Samsung Galaxy S III Teaser Video Implies iPhone Users Are Sheep

You can always count on Samsung for a good offensive advertisement. The Korean electronics giant is gearing up to launch the next version of its Galaxy S Android phone — the Galaxy S III — on May 3, and today has released a video teaser, claiming the phone will set you apart from everyone else.

Images of outer space flash as the video begins and then grand on-screen messages appear, including “a galaxy fits perfectly in your hand” and “as you gain the power to explore it freely and swiftly.”

The real punch comes at the close. “With technology that fits in this easily, you can now stand out from… everyone else” flashes on the screen — just as a bunch of sheep appear in place of those cosmic vistas in the background.
Samsung doesn’t blatantly refer to the sheep as Apple iPhone users, but it is implied. Take a look:
As CNET’s Don Reisinger writes, “Although the company didn’t mention Apple or its customers by name, detractors have long called the iPhone maker’s faithful customers ‘iSheep’ for their ostensible willingness to follow Apple’s lead and buy its products whenever they launch.”

The Galaxy S III is likely to be the official Olympics phone as Samsung is a sponsor of the games in London this summer. The phone is rumored to have a 1.5GHz processor, 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM, and run Google’s latest version of Android 4.0.
