The cadre of gamers that get their video game fix solely from the Xbox 360 have reason to rejoice today, as Bethesda has released the trailer for its Dawnguard expansion for Skyrim. Like many past DLC releases for super popular gaming titles, Dawnguard is going to be an Xbox 360 exclusive for a period of time this summer. Other platforms will get it eventually, but you’ll have to play on Xbox 360 to get it first.
From the looks of the trailer, players will get the choice to either join a group of flesh-eating demons or the Dawnguard (read bad guys vs. good guys) in this Skyrim addon. Gathering clues from the video’s narration, the DLC pack is going to add a whole storyline to the already massive adventure, allowing you to undertake new quests to save the world from the demons, or to help the monstrous horde acquire the Elder Scrolls.
Right now, there’s no word on how long Xbox gamers are going to have a leg up on their PC brethren, but it’s likely the time period is going to be short since Bethesda knows that a large portion of its customer base play the game on souped-up gaming rigs to get the best visual experience possible.
The word on the street is that the DLC is going to cost 1600 points on Microsoft Live, which translates to about $20.00 in real world money. With a DLC addon costing that much, it’s good to see that it looks to be a meaty addition the Skyrim universe.
PC gamers — stay strong! I know we can’t wait to get our hands on this, but it’ll happen soon enough.
