Ferrari Online Auction For Earthquake Victims

To help the victims of the recent 5.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Northern Italy, caused many deaths and losses, and closed many factories, Ferrari launched an online auction to sell a couple of fine items to raise money for the victims. The auction will open next week, with the list of goods including a $1.3 million Ferrari 599XX, a Formula 1 engine, racing suits signed by Alonso and Massa, and other racing memorabilia like prancing horse watches.

In the days leading up to the auction next week, www.ferrari.com will dedicate a section to this important initiative which sets out to contribute a significant sum of money to those families who have lost loved ones and those who need to rebuild their lives. We normally don’t like branded merchandised, but this is for a good cause. So go ahead and bid as high as you can.

Of course Ferrari fans and friends didn’t wait for the auction. They say as soon as news about the earthquakes came out, Ferrari clients and collectors from around the world spontaneously contacted the Maranello headquarters to offer their contribution.

This is more than just an act of solidarity by fans. It really does matter, and it really does make a difference. We all remember how the money donated by these people helped with reconstruction of Abruzzo region after 2009 earthquake.
