Samsung has announced that it has begun rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for select devices in Canada. The update will be available for unlocked and unbranded devices first, with carrier branded versions receiving the upgrade throughout the rest of the quarter.
The Canadian versions of the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy S II LTE HD, Galaxy S II X, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 7.0, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 8.9, and Galaxy Tab 10.1 are all slated to get the upgrade to Android 4.0. The update offers a number of improvements and new features, including better multitasking and the Face Unlock feature.
