Nissan Pixo

As the new five-door version of the Volkswagen up! gets ready to take the UK market by storm, Nissan announces a new, updated version of its own small city car, the Pixo. The new Pixo is priced at £7,250 for its base model, while the up! starts from, as near as makes no difference, eight and half grand. Still, the Pixo looks nowhere near confident enough to take on the up! The VW is something trendy and cool. The Nissan isn’t.

It does get a fair bit of kit in its range-topping version though, which by the way costs £9.150. We get to the list of features later. The new Pixo also gets engine tune and aerodynamic improvements. These changes have reduced its CO2 emissions to 99 g/km, which means it enjoys tax benefits and congestion charge exemption.

What;s more, the interior is enhanced with new black accents and door trims around the glovebox and centre console. Nissan says it’s a touch of class, but you know they’re talking rubbish. This car has no class.

Electronic auto-dimming rear view mirror is another new items added to all versions of the revised Pixo.

• Tilt-adjustable steering wheelHEATING, VENTILATION AND VISIBILITY• 2-speed front wiper with intermittent setting• Manually adjustable door mirrors• Auto dimming rear view mirror• 50:50 split folding rear seats• ABS with EBD and Brake assist• ISOfix childseat anchorage points• 14» Steel wheels with wheel covers• Metallic or Pearlescent paint• Metallic or Pearlescent paint• Safety Pack (Curtain Airbags & ESP)
