New Audi RS4

The latest version of Audi’s renowned high performance estate car, the RS4, is being readied for its UK launch in autumn, as the company reveals its pricing details. The new RS4 is priced from £54,925, and for that you get an all-in-one car. It’s fast, it’s practical, it’s sporty, it’s comfortable, it’s spacious, and it’s built magnificently. Just avoid the red color, and it’s the best car in the world. Or so the specs suggest.

Reading through the specs and details of the RS4 you can’t help but think this is a very perfect car. It does everything and it does everything brilliantly. But, it somehow looks cold and soulless. Compared to the Mercedes C63 AMG wagon, the Audi seems like a lot less fun.

Anyhow, the car features a high-revving, naturally aspirated V8 engine that delivers 450 PS and maximum torque of 430 Nm. That power is channeled to all four wheels via an S-tronic transmission and the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, to propel the RS4 from 0 to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds. Top speed, like pretty much everything else these days, is limited to 155mph, but Audi will raise it to 174 is you ask nicely!

In spite of the weight and the performance, the RS4 still returns 26.4mpg (combined) which is impressive.

As for the practicality, you get split folding rear seats which can expand the boot space to up 1430 liter. An RS body kit, 19-inch wheels and a black interior with chrome and carbon trimming are also included.

Options, you can get the Sport Package which adds items like 20-inch wheels and Dynamic Ride Control for £2,250, and Technology Package Advanced, priced at £1,420, which adds a better hard disk-based navigation,  adaptive cruise control, the parking system advanced with reversing camera and the active lane assist lane departure warning system. Options for the luggage compartment, include a rail system with load securing set and a power-operated tailgate.
